Gates - Your Choice
All of our gates are made to measure to your design preferences, ensuring that you get exactly what you want to fit your drive - and your pocket. Quality of manufacture and installation is important to us. Broad options are:
Your ultimate design selection will be based on your main priorities for the gate - security, privacy or aesthetics, or perhaps combinations of these motivations. You can see a selection of styles in our gallery by clicking here, but remember that this is only a small sample of what is possible. In the main we are asked to install driveway gates - wooden driveway gates, metal railing driveway gates or driveway gates clad in wood or composite. Frequently manual pedestrian gates are required to match the driveway gates, or automated pedestrian gates likewise. We occasional receive a request for manual gates and are happy to oblige.
The environment of the proposed gates will be taken into account. For example, solid wooden driveway gates can act as sails, catching the wind. In very windy locations stress can be caused by the wind blowing on the gate leaves and straining the motors which would be holding the gates closed. An electronic lock could be used to strengthen the closing, or a less wind-resistant design could be chosen.
You might require your gates to be manually operated, but most of our customers opt for some form of automation. Motors can either be above ground arms attached to each of the gate leaves on the house sider, so they are visible, or underground so that they are invisible. Underground motors are a little more expensive because of the labour and materials involved in digging them in. Safety is a principle consideration for automated gates. and is integral to the way we build and install automated gates.
Another style in some situations is to have a sliding gate. If the ground is level the gate can run on a shallow track with rollers, but some circumstances require a gate to not run on the ground. In that case a cantilever gate would overcome any terrain difficulties.
Once installed, we'll look after your gate automation with annual servicing and, should it be necessary, repairs. Even if you didn't buy the gate from us, we can still help to fix any problems, be it a broken gate or a motor that's stopped working.
