Metal framed gates offer an opportunity to combine metalwork of various colours with a wooden or composite cladding.
The wood used for cladding is tongue and groove lengths set either vertically or horizontally, and we typically use iroko for the purpose. As for a fully wooden gate, the iroko can be left untreated or coated with a stain or varnish.
Composite cladding is a composite of wood and plastic, giving a durable and maintenance-free cladding. It can be plain-faced or textured to resemble wood, and comes in a range of colours.
Metal-framed gates combine the strength of the frame with the aesthetic appeal of the wood or composite cladding.
The gate posts would normally be made of powder-coated steel.
